The Principles for ESL Ministry

Guiding Principles for Evangelistic ESL Ministry

Evangelistic ESL is more than teaching English—it’s a ministry of relationship, integrity, and Christlike love. These guiding principles help churches build trust, cultivate meaningful gospel conversations, and serve their international neighbors with excellence, gentleness, and prayerful dependence.

A Christmas Story for the Chronically Human

Christmas arrives every year like a glitter-covered reminder that humanity is both beautiful and a bit of a disaster. Beneath the lights and the forced cheer, there’s a quieter truth: the miracle wasn’t in the perfection, but in God stepping straight into our mess. Let's introduce ourselves

Who we are

Two perspectives. One shared curiosity.

Allen and Sophie come from very different professional worlds, but their interests meet in many of the same places: people, stories, language, culture, and the ideas that shape how we understand one another.

Allen & Sophie brings those perspectives together through writing, creative work, education, resources, and the occasional project that refuses to fit neatly into a category.

Allen Mowery

Writer, photographer, designer, and collector of far too many interests. Allen’s work is driven by curiosity, observation, and a fascination with people, ideas, and the stories hiding in ordinary places.

Sophie Mowery

Language and cross-cultural educator whose work has taken her into classrooms across three continents. Sophie’s perspective is shaped by language, education, culture, and helping people understand one another across borders and backgrounds.
